About Us
Our Mission
The Unijos R Users Community is dedicated to building R programming capacity among epidemiologists and public health professionals at the University of Jos and beyond. We believe in the power of open-source tools and collaborative learning to transform public health data analysis.
Our Story
Founded to support the transition from proprietary statistical software to open-source R programming, our community has grown into a vibrant network of learners and practitioners. We organize bi-weekly training sessions, webinars, and provide ongoing support for members developing their R skills.
What started as a small group of seven MSc Epidemiology students has expanded to include participants from across multiple universities in northern Nigeria, including Ahmadu Bello University, Federal University of Health Sciences Azare, and University of Maiduguri.
